PhotoChecker — photo library checker
Every photo, checked.
PhotoChecker goes through a photo library and finds what's worth removing: exact duplicates, near-identical re-saves, blurry shots, and flash red-eye — each with a recommendation, never an automatic deletion.
What it finds
Exact & similar duplicates
Byte-for-byte duplicates are matched with certainty. Visually similar photos — the same shot taken moments apart, or a resized/re-exported copy — are matched with perceptual hashing, so near-identical photos are grouped even when their files differ.
Low quality
Standalone blurry or soft photos are flagged on their own, scored by sharpness, so you can clear out the shots that never should have made the cut.
Red-eye
Faces and eyes are checked directly for flash red-eye. A heuristic check runs by default; an optional Cloud AI tier can re-examine flagged photos for a more accurate second opinion.
Recommendations, three ways
Free, built in. Picks the sharpest, most likely original from each group using deterministic rules — no setup, works offline.
Free after a one-time download. Runs entirely on your own machine via Ollama for smarter, plain-English recommendations — private, still works offline.
Bring your own Anthropic API key, or use Bremer Core's metered option once available. The most capable tier, including the red-eye second opinion.
